John's 2nd Birthday!

JohnBD2010

Another backdated post, John turned 2 year-old two days before Chinese New Year. On the actual day, we brought him to a bicycle shop and get him a blue bike. Upgraded his "tut tut car" we bought him about a year ago, it's getting smaller for him to scoot around. I asked the seller to install a bell, just for him to have more fun when riding on it. He was very excited with his new bike, didn't want to get down when trying out at the shop.

We invited a friend over for dinner, menu was lotus root soup, shang-choy bao, grilled fish, red bean rice and pork cutlet. Friend bought us a chocolate cake, so I did not bake cake this year. Managed to get 2 shou bao (Peach shape buns) with peanut filling, papa requested for it. He said it is Japanese tradition to have bun and peanut for children's birthday. By the way, grilled fish and red bean rice will be our family tradition dishes for celebrations related to new year and birthday. It is Japanese tradition to have these two dishes for the celebration such as birthday, success and so forth.

John has some knowledges of blowing candles on the cake, he blew it out before we sing the song. When singing the birthday song, he looked so happy and seemed enjoying the moment. Glad that we celebrated his birthday. Time flies, mama's baby is now 2!
