Between the Mountains

It is really a big change for both of us, from a city to a place with 2-3 streets and the best part is we could see the mountains when standing at the gate. It is like a Chinese saying "开门见山", seeing the mountain when open the door, but that Chinese saying has different meaning ya. It means straight forward or honest.

We had an unique experience with this place, there are lots of buffalos!! Yes, this is not a village but once we had to stop our car due to buffalos crossing!! Actually there are lots of houses at our area but most of them are empty.

Even though we are living not very close to the UTAR but in such a small town, wherever we go we can expect to meet T's student(s). Bumped into a female student in the mini mart today and she called T 'Sir'... eh ehmm, I guess I(we) need to dress-up a little when go out for dining and shopping.

Oh ya, when we first arrived here, we asked the hotel staff where the supermarket is, he laughed and replied 'We have only mini marts in the town.' So far, T is alright with his new environment and he seems to be adapting pretty well to all new things here. I am alright, not yet facing a big problem in settling down yet (touch wood). The only complain is that I have to be a translator wherever we go... sometimes I feel really tired when I have to order every single meal when dining out. If we are living in Ipoh, T will be able to use English.
