Travel with Bus

You may not believe if I tell you that I first took the public bus in Sydney after living here for more than 2 years. I first took the public bus on 21 July 2007, from UNSW to the Central Station. Before that I was hesitated to take bus as I was not sure how to buy the ticket and the service provided. I am so used to the convenient public transport system in Singapore, in which single fare card can be used for both trains and buses. The best part is, if I took the wrong bus, I can always take the same bus at the opposite direction to get back to where I from.

Back to the buses in Sydney, some buses accept cash payment but other accept only prepay. For the prepay, the minimum ticket available is the Travel10 and it is good for 10 trips. I bought a Travel10 ticket yesterday, I suppose it may last me for at least 6 months. Hopefully the expiry date is more than 6 months.

I was a little surprised to see no one actually give up seat for elderly or disable passengers on the bus. I gave up my seat to an elderly man, he sat down without saying anything... thanks? Never mind, maybe he does not know English.
