A few new faces of little people joined playsession yesterday. There was a little girl about 12-14 months I guess, was wondering around outdoor and veranda area. Normally angmo children are very cute but this girl has a fierce face and never smile in the whole morning. Non of my classmates were talking about her because she is not so cute... I think. :p In my class, it is a norm talking about a cute kid like J and J. I like these two toddlers too but too bad we cannot take any photos without permission from parents. Next month we will have to do a report on a focus child in which we need to obtain written permission from parents to allow us to take photos of their child.
Go back to that girl, she came to my area (train and track) and wanna play with train. She stepped on the track like a giant monster in ultraman movie... stump... stump... I quickly grab her out. I want to try the hand gestures communication method taught in the class weeks ago. I said "Sit down, D." but she seems could not understand my instruction and was just looking at my face blankly. Then I said "Sit down, D." meanwhile I make a hand gesture by tapping my palm on the ground and then I repeated saying "sit here" each time I tap on the ground. Then she 'bum' straight to the ground without bending her legs and sat with both legs stretched forward. I tried to bend her legs a bit so that she could reach the train easily, but her legs were stiff. I am not sure whether she does not know how to bend her knees or she does not want to do it.
She was falling forward and her head was heading to the ground when trying to get up. I quickly grab her from the back worrying she might fell into tracks and hurt herself. After she got up, she stumped on the track again intend to walk to another side. I quickly grab her off the track as I do not want her to mess up the track. I carried her to infant room which is more suitable for her age.
Later in the playsession when we were tidying up all the activities, she followed us walking around. I tried to bring her out from the room by holding her hand but she hide her hand behind her back! She saw some toys in the room and wanna play with it but no one there supervising the room and I have to bring her out. So... I tried again, I said "Lets play outside, nobody playing here anymore." and she said "Nooooo". I was so surprised, I thought she could not understand and could not talk.
